Building Financial Literacy for Children
Teaching kids financial literacy from a young age comes with a variety
Brothers On Campus was formed in 1974 on the campus of Illinois State University by fourteen young Black men committed to supporting each other academically, morally, and spiritually: "Each One, Reach One; Each One, Teach One. Until All Are Taught." No brother was to be left behind or in need of anything. Today, the mission that sustained and propelled them through college and launched their professional careers and success extends beyond their fraternal brotherhood and reaches into neighborhoods and schools across the country.
BOC provides outreach and mentoring programs to youth aged 5 to 17, college students, and young adults. These programs include educational initiatives and support, financial literacy, and career guidance which studies have shown lead to living a positive, productive, and successful life.
The path to college may seem insurmountable at times for teenagers in under-resourced communities. BOC provides one-time scholarships to high school seniors that can be used to ease the financial burden of college expenses. Selection is based on academic achievement, their community service involvement, and the overall financial need.
BOC will assist veteran families and with obtaining affordable housing. By helping to end systemic homelessness, the residents will become more resilient and have a major economic impact within their communities.
Brothers on Campus, B.O.C, are proud of the relationships that we have built within the communities and are proud of the corporate sponsors. We would like to thank them for their continued support in helping us empower youth to become the leaders of the future. The following corporate sponsors have contributed to B.O.C
